This article rambles a bit about a ‘bad’ legislator who didn’t get done what this group wanted, hmm, ok. I copied a piece from a key issue;
‘the bill that would make it illegal for already disqualified people to obtain rifles and shotguns at gun shows and other transfers.’
Think about the highlighted portion, ‘already disqualified’ and tell me how many times a person must be disqualified? Such a disqualified person cannot legally buy a gun at a gun show or elsewhere, period. Vendors at these shows run the same pain in the butt, do you smoke pot, are you a felon and so on NICS check with the 4473 form. What this whole argument is about is the private sale and transfer between private individuals yet they always throw in the gun show bit.
Some of the laws often proposed would force you to run to a FFL, do a 4473 at the range to hand your rifle to your buddy for him to shoot it, then another for him to hand it back! This is why these bills fail, they are just stupid. We don’t need a million laws when we have one already. Criminals can just as easily break a thousand laws as one.
