BUCYRUS – A new state law that prohibits Ohio cities from regulating firearms beyond state code caused city council members to review several existing ordinances during Thursday night’s joint committee meetings.
The legislation that Bucyrus Law Director Rob Ratliff asked council members to review was pulled from sections of city code that handled traffic regulation, hunting restrictions and states of emergency.
More than 20 city residents were on hand to ensure their local government wasn’t going to impose any new laws, and questioned some of the other portions of the existing legislation that didn’t deal with firearms. MORE: New state gun […]
